Community involvement

“We don’t restrict ourselves simply to running our own cases for whatever commercial benefit we might obtain. We’re broader than that in terms of community responsibility. We put something back in.”

- Tim Concannon, Partner

Our firm was founded on the belief that lawyers have a duty to work for the benefit of society and to help marginalised people get access to justice. We are proud to continue the tradition of serving the community by providing free legal advice, fundraising for worthy causes and serving on the boards of schools, hospitals and community organisations.

Fundraising

The causes we support through fundraising activities include Spinal Talk, Jeans for Genes Day, Daffodil Day, Pink Ribbon Day, the Salvation Army’s Red Shield Appeal and the AustraLanka Helpline, which was set up to help children in Sri Lanka who were orphaned by the tsunami in 2004.

Clemente Australia

We mentor disadvantaged young adults through the Clemente program, helping them to get a university education by tutoring and supporting them. We also assist the program financially.

Our commitment

Whether they are coaching teams for Mock Trial competitions, serving on boards or working for charities as volunteers, our people maintain an involvement in a multitude of projects and initiatives. This is because individually and as a firm, we are determined to continue making a positive and significant contribution to the community.
