Professional Experience
Thomas Kwan for many years acted for insurance companies, the more recent being Allianz Australia Insurance Limited and Defence Service Homes.
He acted for:
- The People's Republic of China when it purchased its Sydney Consulate;
- A Hong Kong consortium including the publicly listed New World Developments Limited when it joined with Leighton Holdings Limited to bid for the Sydney Casino licence;
- The Euro-Asia Property Group of Singapore which included in its developments The Rex Hotel at Potts Point.
Professional Background
Tom graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws degree. He was articled to the firm of Holman Webb & Co and was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of NSW in 1972. In 1973 he joined with John Tesoriero to establish the firm of Tesoriero Kwan. In 1995 he joined the firm of Brophy Bridge & Mirow. In 2010 he joined Carroll & O'Dea Lawyers as Special Counsel.
