Professional Experience
After being admitted to practise in July 1976 Tony Giurissevich worked initially for a major Trade Union plaintiff firm in Sydney then the Commonwealth Attorney General in Canberra. From 1980 to 1990, Tony carried on the partnership of Goldstein & Giurissevich at Redfern mainly in compensation litigation and advocacy. That firm was acquired in 1990 by a city firm and after a European holiday Tony resumed as a sole practitioner in Sydney in 1991. In January 2001 Tony joined a large plaintiff firm where he remained until December 2010. Tony has been a past volunteer at the Redfern and Marrickville Legal Centres, a past panel member of the Legal Aid Children’s Court roster. Tony has also been at different times a part time statutory member of various Tribunals including the Guardianship Tribunal where he was appointed for 15 years.
Tony is fluent in written and spoken Italian and is conversant in French and German.
