Compensation Law Litigation and Dispute Resolution
Emily was admitted to practice in 1995 and joined Carroll &
O'Dea later in the same year. In addition to practising in the area
of compensation law, Emily has experience with debt recovery matters
and cases involving contravention of the Trade Practices Act.
Emily is an experienced advocate who appears regularly in the
courts and tribunals which adjudicate on compensation matters. These
include the specialist tribunals commissioned to hear compensation
law matters as well as the Local Court, District Court, Supreme
Court and Court of Appeal. She has extensive negotiation and
advocacy skills, representing clients at settlement conferences,
arbitrations and conciliations.
Emily has a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Laws from
Australian National University. She is admitted as a Solicitor in
the Supreme Court, Federal Court and High Court and is a member of
the Australian Lawyers Association (ALA). Emily joined Carroll &
O'Dea in November 1995 and became an Associate in July 2000.
