Dispute Resolution and Commercial Litigation
Current Practice
Adrian specialises in the area of Dispute Resolution and Commercial
Litigation. Adrian assists clients with the resolution of a broad
range of disputes including breach of contract, negligence actions,
property disputes, insurance claims, trade practices claims, actions
under the Corporations Act, debt recovery, criminal, occupational
health and safety, as well as other areas.
Professional Experience
Adrian was admitted to practice in February 1997. Prior to joining
Carroll & O'Dea, Adrian was employed by the NSW Ombudsman, and
in Ireland, for the law firm McCann Fitzgerald, Dublin within their
Litigation group. During 1998-2000 Adrian worked in London where he
was employed as an in-house Solicitor by London Electricity Pty Ltd.
Adrian has also undertaken a secondment with the Legal Department of
the WorkCover Authority of New South Wales. Adrian has gained broad
commercial experience and has advised on a broad spectrum of law,
and is able to use that experience to approach cases in a practical,
constructive and balanced way.
Adrian serves on a number of community organisations, including:
- Member of the Executive Board of Charingfield Ltd, a Not for
Profit aged care facility;
- Member of the Advisory Board of The Little Sisters of the
Poor;
- Member of Stella Maris College;
- Member of Mount St Benedict College
Adrian has conducted a number of notable cases including
Inspector Campbell -v- Hitchcock a prosecution under the
Occupational Health and Safety Act undertaken on behalf of the
WorkCover Authority of New South Wales.
Professional Background
Adrian has a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Sydney and
a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from the University of Wollongong. Adrian
was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of NSW in 1997.
Adrian joined Carroll & O'Dea in 2000 and became a Partner in
2004. |
