Carroll and O’Dea Lawyers – Immigration Law – Press Release
Carroll & O’Dea Lawyers have recently been informed that its application for a Distinguished Talent Visa has been accepted and granted by the Immigration Department.
The Department of Immigration rarely grants Distinguished Talent visas because the Applicants are required to show that they are one of the best in their field of expertise. Typically these types of visas are only granted to internationally recognised sportsman, musicians, actors, artists and designers who are under the age of 55.
Our client was over 65 years of age and also did not fit into the typical mould of an “international talent”. The client was a well accomplished and highly regarded professional in the field of Environmental Law. He had worked with the United Nations for many years.
Carroll & O’Dea were successful in persuading the
Department of Immigration that the Applicant was eligible for a Distinguished
Talent visa due to his work and accomplishments in the field of Environmental
Law. We were able to show that he was an “exceptional” case and despite his
age, he could continue to use his “distinguished talent” to benefit
Needless to say, both the client and Carroll and O’Dea Lawyers were very pleased with the outcome.
