The Opportunity

A great new opportunity has arisen for an experienced and proactive Legal Assistant to join our Personal Injury team based in our Sydney CBD office. Supporting a Partner and working alongside a collaborative and energetic team, this full-time role will involve a variety of legal administrative work within plaintiff personal injury, including child abuse matters.

This role is suited to high-achievers who enjoy the challenge of a high-volume workload and busy work environment and are looking to establish and build their career within a strong and reputable firm. Ideally, we are looking for candidates who are experienced in complex PI matters but who also have the ability to handle and address sensitive material, given the nature of some matters.

Key responsibilities

• Providing high-level secretarial and administrative assistance, including drafting and producing standard correspondence, filing and collating
• Frequent client liaison and communication with external parties such as doctors, barristers, insurers, etc.
• Extensive diary and calendar management
• Organising meetings and travel arrangements
• Assisting with preparation of correspondence and court documents
• File and document management; overseeing and assisting with opening and closing files
• General legal administrative support for the wider team as required

Successful candidates will have

• A minimum of two (2) years’ experience within Personal Injury Law and/or abuse matters (preferred)
• Excellent interpersonal, spoken, and written communication skills
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and multitask with accuracy during busy times
• Strong proficiency in Office 365 and Outlook skills
• Excellent file management skills
• Confidence to liaise with clients and professionals at all levels
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• The ability to undertake tasks with a demonstrated high attention to detail
