June 13, 2018 12:45pm - June 13, 2018 2:00pm
Carroll & O’Dea, Level 20, 111 Elizabeth Street, Sydney
Topic: Opportunities and Challenges facing the Catholic Church in Myanmar
Cardinal Bo will speak to us on his promotion of multi-faith dialogue, together with his commitment to the welfare of the struggling and oppressed minorities. He will cover the current cultural and political situation facing Myanmar.
In partnership with Catholic Mission, Carroll & O’Dea invites you to attend our upcoming speaker seminar with Cardinal Bo. Cardinal Bo is an outspoken advocate for human rights, religious freedom, inter-religious harmony, peace and justice in his homeland and the region. He serves as Chairman of the Office of Human Development in the Federation of Asian Bishops Conferences; he is a sitting member of the Pontifical Council for Inter-Religious Dialogue; and since 2015, he has been a member of both the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life and the Pontifical Council for Culture. In January 2016 he served as the Papal Legate at the International Eucharistic Congress.
One of 19 Asian Cardinals, as the leader of the Church in Myanmar, Cardinal Bo has prioritised better education, healthcare, and peace, always with a heightened concern for the marginalised and the poor. His visit to Australia this year is a highlight for those engaged with Catholic Mission in our partnership with the Church of Myanmar.
