Rebecca Tidswell has over 25 years experience in litigation focusing specifically on complex medical law issues and estate disputes.
Rebecca developed her litigation skills working at a top tier firm in the UK. Since moving to Australia in 2004, she has built a medical law and estates practice, which rests on significant professional knowledge, effective communication with client and counsel alike, and strong empathy with people.
Rebecca appears regularly in the Supreme Court of NSW and the Coronial Court dealing with a varied practice covering estate disputes (contesting and defending estates) medical and legal capacity issues, medical negligence, protective court orders and coronial inquests.
After the successful resolution of a difficult case, a client of Rebecca’s wrote to the firm saying, “Honestly, thank you for everything you have done. You have been really truthful, real and patient with us and your knowledge, time and dedication to our case means more to us than you know. Thank you for taking Dad’s case so seriously and treating us like a family and not a number. Acknowledging Dad’s life was worth something, worth the fight”.
The emphasis Rebecca places on the relationship between solicitor and client has been instrumental in her many successful outcomes.
“My focus is to understand my client’s needs and concerns so that we can work together to find a practical solution to the dispute. Whether it be a bad outcome from surgery, dealing with the loss of a loved one, or managing the complex dynamics of estates disputes, I will work hard to achieve a successful resolution on your behalf.”
Rebecca has extensive experience in Estate disputes, Civil claims, Coronial Inquests, Health Care Complaints, Funds Management Applications, Family Provision actions, and Statutory Wills. Moreover, Rebecca has a diverse experience in working with clients of all ages and backgrounds who have suffered grief and loss, brain injuries, spinal injuries, general medical problems and mental health issues.
