Campbelltown to host legal and academic specialists in personal injury and compensation law – Carroll & O’Dea Lawyers

Experts in the fields of childhood trauma, personal injury and compensation law will headline Carroll & O’Dea Lawyers Continuing Professional Development event in Campbelltown to be held on Thursday, 5th March 2020.

Speakers – including legal and subject matter experts – will address a range of issues including compensation for those who have experienced sexual abuse as children, compensation for members of the Stolen Generations and practical advice in dealing with superannuation disability claims.

The event speaker program will include:

  • One of Australia’s leading psychiatric experts Associate Professor Michael Robertson who has two decades of specialised experience in occupational and forensic psychiatry. He will focus on the impact of childhood trauma on adults and what that means in civil litigation.
  • Partner Maithri Panagoda who has represented members of the Stolen Generations for decades and has secured 250 individual settlements for compensation will talk about his landmark work in this area.
  • Special Counsel Bill Madden is one of Australia’s pre-eminent medical negligence and institutional abuse law experts with a 30-year career. Bill will examine the latest legal developments in respect of Redress and Legal Remedies for those who have experienced institutional sexual abuse.
  • Solicitor Laura Flanagan who acts for clients across Workers Compensation, Motor Vehicle Accident, Public Liability and Medical Negligence claims will examine the detail of managing superannuation disability claims.

The Continuing Professional Development event will be held at the Campbelltown Catholic Club from 8.45am on Thursday, 5th March 2020.
