The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Lawyer to join our Compensation, Public Liability and Litigation team on a 12‑month parental leave contract, based in our Sydney CBD office. Supporting a Partner, this role is ideal for candidates who thrive in a busy and varied work environment.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Direct liaising with clients and providing accurate and timely advice.
- Preparing Court documents and attending the Supreme/District Court of NSW and the Personal Injury Commission for hearings and interlocutory matters.;
- Attending, mediations and informal settlement conferences.
- Briefing Counsel and experts.
Successful candidates will have:
- A valid NSW Practising Certificate (essential).
- A minimum of three (3) years’ PAE in Personal Injury/Compensation Law (essential).
- A demonstrated understanding of personal injury law and Court procedures (essential).
- The ability to maintain client confidentiality and handle matters with sensitivity.
- The capacity for strong negotiation, mediation & advocacy skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated strong client relationship and business development skills.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise work and manage competing deadlines.
- Dedicated to providing a positive client experience.
- Motivated to succeed and support colleagues to also achieve their path of success.
- Open to mentoring younger members of the firm.
