The door to opportunity is opened by leading by example and improving equity for all. Marking International Women’s Day 2023, Cassandra will discuss her priorities for 2023 including equity and the modern legal profession, as well as drawing on her experiences and her mission to make change.
About the speaker
Cassandra Banks, President of The Law Society of NSW, is a solicitor with more than 12 years’ experience in general practice. Cassandra’s achievements throughout her esteemed career include advising in Guardianship and financial management matters before NCAT, being a finalist in the Lawyers Weekly, Women in Law Awards in 2017 and 2018 and being awarded by then Justice Margaret Beazley the NSW Young Lawyer of the Year Award.
Cassandra has been active in the Clarence River & Coffs Harbour Regional Law Society, serving as President, Vice President and until late 2022 as Co-President. She was elected to the NSW Law Society Council in 2015 and was appointed as Treasurer in 2020. Being an active Member of the Law Society of NSW, Cassandra has taken on prominent roles in NSW Young Lawyers at a regional and state level. Cassandra became a member of the NSW Young Lawyers Executive in 2014.
