Adrian has been a partner at Carroll and O’Dea since 2004 and has for many years been recognised by the Law Society of New South Wales as an Accredited Specialist in Commercial Litigation.

With over 25 years legal experience, Adrian has significant expertise in the negotiation and favourable resolution of disputes for a broad range of clients.  He prosecutes and defends claims in a myriad of Federal and State courts and tribunals. Areas of his practice include breach of contract, property and leasing disputes, equity, negligence, insurance, Competition & Consumer Law, Corporations Law, debt recovery, family provision claims, estate and trust disputes, criminal and occupational health & safety.  Adrian has acted in high profile cases including defending two class actions relating to the 2013 Blue Mountains fires (claims exceeding $250 Mil), landmark cases in the area of occupational health and safety and leading and complex cases in equity, contract and insurance law.

Adrian draws on his diverse legal and commercial experience to bring a practical, constructive and balanced approach to advising his clients.  Prior to joining Carroll & O’Dea in 2000, Adrian’s experience included working with the NSW Ombudsman, in the litigation group of Irish law firm McCann Fitzgerald and as an in-house counsel with London Electricity.  He has also undertaken a secondment with the WorkCover Authority of New South Wales.

Adrian enjoys working on pro-bono cases and has been a member of various not for profits including on the Board (including as Chair) of an aged care facility (Charingfield Ltd), on the advisory board for The Little Sisters of the Poor, member of Mount St Benedict College, board member of the Claffy Foundation and board member of Stella Maris College (currently as Deputy Chair).

  • Adrian has a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Sydney and a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from the University of Wollongong.
