With more than 50 years experience in the property industry, Tony is one of Australia’s most well-known and effective property lawyers. Tony works with a wide range of clients who are either buying or selling commercial, industrial or residential property.

Tony’s expertise in this area in part stems from his commercial experience. He has had a prominent property business career, sitting on the boards of two formerly publicly listed companies; he was Chairman of Phipps Properties and Director of Trinity Properties.

Tony’s extensive experience in wills, probate and the administration of estates enables him to provide insightful, strategic advice to clients in the area of wills and estate planning.

In 1996, Tony was made a member of the Order of Australia. This honour was awarded to him for services to the community, in part following his work advising and representing not-for-profit organisations. Tony is on the ground floor with many organisations, setting up structures that are compliant with the law and at the same time as Tax effective as possible.

For example, Tony oversaw the transfer of the Mater to St Vincent‘s Hospital, ensuring the parties’ interests were enhanced during the complex legal proceedings. Tony brings a first-hand understanding of how organisations work, through his extensive involvement in charitable organisations, including:

  • A member of the Governing Body of the Catholic College of Advanced Education Sydney (and predecessor college) from 1980 to 1991;
  • A Senator of the Australian Catholic University from 1991 to 1998;
  • The Chairman of the New South Wales Chapter of the Australian Catholic University from 1997 to 2000;
  • A member of the Board of the Mercy Family Centre, Waitara for 30 years, and the last three years as Deputy Chairman;
  • A member of the Board of the Mater Dei Special School at Camden for 10 years.

“I really enjoy working with people in the not-for-profit sector who dedicate their lives to helping others”
