Australian Charities and Not-For-Profits Commission Bill 2012

On the 10th July 2012 an updated draft of the Australian Charities and Not-For-Profits Commission Bill 2012 (ACNC) was referred to the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Economics for review. The Bill establishes the powers of the ACNC and the Commissioner in regards to the registration, reporting, enforcement, education and monitoring of the Not-For-Profit sector. It is expected that the draft legislation will come into effect from 1 October 2012, at which point the ACNC will be fully operational. We will keep you updated.
