Carroll and O’Dea Lawyers has congratulated Partner Maithri Panagoda on his appointment as Adjunct Professor to the School of Law at the University of Notre Dame Australia.

The announcement of Maithri’s appointment was made by the Vice Chancellor of the University of Notre Dame, Professor Celia Hammond. Mr Panagoda specialises in Law of Torts for both undergraduate and postgraduate students.

‘We are very pleased that Maithri’s knowledge and skills have been recognised at such a high level”, said Carroll & O’Dea Managing Partner Howard Harrison.

“This is a impressive appointment and reflects the breadth of experience developed by Maithri over 40 years of legal practise.

“I know that the Faculty and students of the School of Law will benefit enormously from his significant experience in specialised areas of the law.

“This includes the extensive work he has undertaken on behalf of Aboriginal Australians in the area of the Stolen Generations and seeking redress for what they have endured”, said Mr Harrison.

“I am very honoured at this appointment and to be able to continue my work with the School of Law at Notre Dame”, said Mr Panagoda.

“The University of Notre Dame School of Law provides an excellent standard of teaching, scholarship, research and training for legal practitioners.

“The courses are designed to offer a high quality ethical and practical legal education, ensuring that students not only know the law as an academic discipline but have the skills necessary to be great lawyers and well-rounded, ethical people”, said Mr Panagoda.
