On 3 October Carroll & O’Dea established its first Diversity & Inclusion Group.
The group is open to all members of the firm and proposes to examine issues relevant to diversity, flexibility and inclusion among staff.
Carroll & O’Dea has an inclusive culture and as Managing Partner I welcome any initiative that can assist people to proactively manage their careers. In particular I wish to support women who aspire to have long careers.
In coming months the Diversity and Inclusion Group will draft a brief Charter, and will then focus on a range of diversity topics such as:
- Unconscious bias and how this impacts on effective decision-making;
- Identifying barriers to inclusion;
- Attracting inspirational speakers as part of the Tuesday Lunchtime Speaker program;
- Short education sessions.
