The Opportunity:

We are seeking a proactive Employment Lawyer with 1-4 years post-admission experience (PQE) to join our growing Employment Law based in our Sydney CBD. This full-time role will see you working closely with our Partner and Law Clerks on a wide range of employment matters.

You will be exposed to a variety of matters including workplace investigations, unfair dismissal claims, general protections disputes, enterprise bargaining and employment advisory work. You will also be involved in discrimination claims, restraint of trade matters, bullying applications and a range of other employment related cases. The role offers a strong foundation for a lawyer looking to build a long-term career in employment law within a reputable and supportive firm.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Direct liaison with clients and providing accurate and timely legal advice
  • Drafting employment contracts, enterprise agreements and workplace policies
  • Preparing court and tribunal documents, correspondence and legal opinions
  • Attending the Fair Work Commission and other tribunals for dispute resolution
  • Conducting legal research and supporting senior lawyers on complex matters

Successful candidates will have:

  • A valid NSW Practising Certificate
  • 1 – 4 years PQE in employment and/or industrial relations law
  • Experience in employment and industrial relations law
  • Knowledge of the Fair Work Act, enterprise agreements and public sector frameworks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and work both independently and collaboratively
