2012 promises to be a year of change in the Not for Profit area.
The Australian Charities and Not for Profits Commission (ACNC) is to commence operation by 1 July 2012.The ACNC will be responsible for regulation and reporting of the not-for-profit sector. It is intended to oversee a reduction in red tape, improve transparency and accountability, and ensure fairness. While providing a single general reporting framework and information portal.
Susan Pascoe AM has been appointed Chair of the Implementation Task Force. A former Commissioner with the Victorian State Services Authority and former CEO of the the Catholic Education Commission of Victoria.
We have Robert Fitzgerald AM, present Chair of the Advisory Board, assisting ACNC speaking at Carroll & O’Dea on Tuesday, 6 March 2012 (1.00pm to 2.00pm) – please make a note in your diaries. This will be a good opporunity to hear the latest developments on the reforms in this rapidly changing space.
We look forward to an exciting year!
