Legal Assistant – Employment Law and Migration

The Opportunity:

We are looking for a full-time Legal Assistant to support our busy and friendly CBD office. We are looking for a self-starter who is mature, pro-active, attentive to detail and well organised. In this varied role, you will provide a range of paralegal, office and administrative services and support the broader teams.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing a high level of secretarial and administrative assistance: producing standard correspondence, photocopying, data entry, filing and collating
  • Direct liaison with clients
  • Extensive diary and calendar management
  • Organising meetings and travel arrangements
  • Assisting with preparation of high-volume correspondence and court documents
  • File and document management; assistance with opening and closing files
  • General legal administrative support for the team as required

About you:

This is a great opportunity for a candidate with relevant prior experience who is willing to learn and is interested in a long-term role with the firm.

You will possess:

  • Previous experience in Employment/WHS law (essential) and Migration Law (preferred)
  • The ability to prioritise work and manage competing deadlines
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent written and verbal interpersonal communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • A confident, professional and empathetic phone manner
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 including Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Exposure to iManage and Aderant (preferred)
