Privacy

The 13 Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) apply to organisations and federal government agencies (with exemptions for organisations with a turnover less than $3m per annum – but there are exemptions to the exemption).

The Australian Office of the Information Commissions (OAIC) found that Australians rank ‘data privacy’ as the third highest differentiator of a product or service, after quality and price (Australian Community Attitudes to Privacy Survey 2023). Therefore, more organisations are increasingly electing to apply the privacy principles.

Here is a very useful privacy self-assessment tool published by the OAIC to assist your organisation in applying the privacy principles to your operations.
