The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Lawyer to join our respected Plaintiff Personal Injury team in our Sydney CBD office. This is an excellent opportunity for a practitioner who is passionate about advancing the rights of vulnerable clients and achieving meaningful outcomes for survivors of abuse.

Approximately 60% of this role will involve acting for clients in institutional abuse matters, with the remainder focusing on a range of personal injury matters. You will work closely with highly experienced practitioners on complex, sensitive and rewarding cases, while developing your career in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Direct liaison with clients and providing accurate and timely advice
  • Preparing Court documents/orders and general correspondence
  • Managing high volume files and matters with occasional supervision
  • Attending court, dispute resolution and settlements
  • Legal research

Successful candidates will have:

  • A valid NSW Practising Certificate
  • A minimum of 2–5 years PQE, ideally with experience in plaintiff personal injury and institutional abuse.
  • An understanding of the legislative and procedural framework relating to abuse and personal injury claims
  • Exceptional client care skills, with the ability to engage empathetically and sensitively with clients
  • Strong negotiation, mediation and advocacy skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong client relationship and business development skills
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and work autonomously while contributing positively to a team environment
